Lettuce Facilities

Local, sustainable, year-round lettuce.

We develop, oversee construction and operations of large-scale controlled environment agriculture (CEA) lettuce facilities. The facilities produce millions of pounds of local, sustainable lettuce each year for major retailers and food service customers, while generating stable returns for investors. This is the core mission of Better Future Farms.
Better Future Farms (BFF) was founded in 2021 by David Drescher, a successful, technology, sustainability and CEA-focused entrepreneur. He co-founded and ran multiple venture capital and private equity-backed companies with the mission of making the world a better place.

BFF’s initial project involved greenfield development, capital formation, managing construction and ramp-up of operations at the world’s most technologically advanced lettuce greenhouse in Louisa, VA. Virginia’s Governor Glenn Youngkin unveiled the 14-acre high tech greenhouse and integrated packing facility at a ribbon cutting ceremony in September 2024.

Our success comes from a strong CEA partner ecosystem bringing together investors, experienced entrepreneurs, highly capable lettuce growers and greenhouse operators, greenhouse construction and automated packing system advisors, leading European greenhouse builders and equipment manufacturers, off-take partners, and more.
